Meet Our New Partner: Blue Spring Living Water

At Water Way, we are committed to excellence in both quality and service. We strive to provide homes, businesses, and offices with the best drinking water and products available. That’s why we are excited to partner with Blue Spring Living Water.

From the heart of Blount County, Alabama, Blue Spring is an ancient geyser known for its pristine and shockingly clear water—so clear that you can see the bottom nearly 35 feet down. This naturally pure water is the stuff of legends.

It’s rumored to have been sought for its healing properties by Native Americans, weary travelers, and Civil War soldiers. As legend has it, the spring was discovered in the early 1800s by Davy Crocket and President Andrew Jackson while hunting along the Black Warrior Trail.

While there are tales of its healing properties, there is more fact than fiction to back up the claims. A 1987 GeoSurvey of Alabama named it a Geological Wonder after confirming the water’s perfectly neutral pH balance. The water comes through limestone aquifers, naturally mineral-enriched with magnesium, calcium, and silica putting it in the same category as the healthiest waters on record. This spring is truly a treasure of nature.

The spring has been well protected by its few owners over the centuries. Originally owned by the VanZandt family, it was passed on to Mr. Ottis Shedd in 1950 who initiated a modest bottling company to share the water with the community. Mr. Shedd reverently named it Blue Spring Living Water and branded it with an eagle out of respect for the deep ancestry, symbolism, and purity of the spring.

In 2017, Alabamian Cameron Cardwell caught tale of Blue Spring and had to find out more for himself. He met a then-95-year-old Mr. Shedd and, within a month, began harvesting and bottling the naturally pure water. He felt drawn to this place of wonder and compelled to help share this special water with all.

Water Way is thrilled to partner with Blue Spring Water as the exclusive ‘Home and Office’ distributor of Blue Spring Living Water, putting this pure water in the hands of more people. As one of the largest distributors in the Southeast, Water Way is uniquely positioned to put Blue Spring Living Water in more homes and businesses than ever before. Our new customer special gives you five 5-gallon bottles, 5 bottle deposits, and cooler installation for only $50 for the $120 value. And for a limited time you can get two 5 gallon bottles for $25.

Today, Blue Spring Living Water is available for purchase in local grocery stores like Piggly Wiggly, Publix, WinnDixie, and other Alabama storefronts. Each bottle is marked with the date it was harvested so you know exactly how fresh it is. You can be sure it is never processed as you enjoy each beautifully clean and velvety smooth sip.

Experience Blue Spring Living Water for yourself. Simply contact us to have your own fresh bottle delivered!

How Our Bulk Water Deliveries Work

It’s essential to have clean drinking water available when you need it. Your overall health relies on staying hydrated. It helps maintain energy levels, keeps your mind sharp, and your muscles working properly—but it’s not always easy to get your hands on fresh water when you are on the go.

In a fast-paced society, more people are choosing the convenience of bulk water deliveries. You may not be familiar with how it works, but there are systems in place to fit the needs of everyone from residential families to large corporations. Keep reading to find out how bulk water deliveries can make your life easier.

At Home

It can be hard to remember to stay hydrated, especially in the winter months, so it’s important to keep water on hand. Having single-serve water bottles ready to grab as you run out the door is a great way to stay hydrated while on the go. With options available from 10, 16.5, and 20 oz. bottles in cases of 24, you can have what you need when you need it.

Larger families may find that a 1 to 5 gallon dispenser helps make water the easy choice of beverage while at home. Various cooler options and bottomless filtration systems are available along with included maintenance to keep your home running smoothly.

At Work

Whether you work in a smaller office or a large warehouse, toting around your own water can be cumbersome and impractical in the workplace. Keeping a supply of water on hand is a healthy option to keep staff hydrated and in peak performance. Depending on your specific environment, individual bottles or larger 5 gallon dispensers may be better.

Special Events and Private Label

If you have an event coming up, consider the ease of bulk water deliveries. You can order small cases, or by the pallet (84 cases, 2,016 bottles) where discounts may apply. Bulk orders can be shipped anywhere in the country, whenever and wherever you need it.

Add a private label to show off your corporate branding or wedding logo. This touch of personalization goes a long way in making an event come together.

Bulk Water Deliveries Are Hassle Free

Bulk water deliveries are fast, simple, and easy. It only takes a few minutes to set up an account specific to your needs. Delivery is on a schedule that is convenient for you. You can manage your account, add products, and pay bills online. Service is quick and efficient. If you find you are running low, same-day delivery is often available.

Coffee Delivery: Yes, It’s as Great as It Sounds

Coffee drinkers, prepare yourself for what is possibly the best news since drive-thru coffee shops: coffee delivery is now available from Water Way! What?! Yes. It’s true. The magic elixir of life can now be delivered to your home, office, warehouse, or special event.

Why Coffee Delivery Matters for You

Millions of Americans rely on coffee to get them through their day. More than 63% of us, in fact. And over half of us would choose our morning coffee over a shower. We depend on coffee to get us going in the morning and keep our engine running throughout the day.

On average, a coffee drinker will consume 2 to 3 cups per day. That’s a whopping 280 million cups of coffee in the U.S. each day! An average office worker will drink 20 cups a week. That’s a lot of joe, but studies show that consuming coffee can help boost productivity. In fact, drinking coffee can increase your brain activity, reduce the risk of some diseases, and it acts as a mild antidepressant—no wonder so many people make this their beverage of choice.

With so many workers, moms, students, and entrepreneurs reaching for their daily brew, it can be challenging to keep the stock from running out. There’s nothing worse than going for your 3 p.m. fix and finding that a coworker just used the last k-cup. And you don’t always have the option of a trip to the local store or wholesale warehouse to restock.

How Water Way Makes Delivery Easy

Water Way will help you determine the quantity and frequency needed for your deliveries to stay stocked and ready for any afternoon slump. Hassle-free coffee delivery can free up your time and you get the satisfaction of crossing something off your to-do list.

Whether you are a family at home, small business, or major warehouse, the team at Water Way will establish a delivery schedule to fit your needs and tastes. With a strong supply of flavors, roasts, and brewing equipment, there’s no need to find yourself without a cup of joe in hand.
For more than 30 years, Water Way has dependably hydrated the Southeast and can keep you caffeinated too. Contact us today to find out how we can help keep your cup full.

What Water Can Do for Your Productivity

We know that staying hydrated is important for our overall health, but did you know that drinking a glass of water can make you more productive at work? Drinking the right amount of water is essential for proper hydration—and your productivity. So why is drinking water so important? What do water and productivity have in common?

The Importance of Water

Simply put, your body needs to stay hydrated to function properly. Since water contributes to about 60% of our body weight, it makes sense that water is so vital to our being. Without water, your blood would not be able to carry oxygen to all of the cells in your body.

Below are 3 reasons why you should stay hydrated if you’re looking to boost your productivity.

#1: Drinking Water Elevates Your Performance

Athletes are well aware of the negative effects of not getting enough water—reduced motivation, increased fatigue, and altered body temperature control—to name a few. This is due to dehydration affecting the way your body operates and functions.

Luckily, staying properly hydrated can prevent these negative effects from happening, and may even reduce oxidative stress. This type of stress results from any physically demanding activity. Since our muscles are around 80% water, it’s no wonder dehydration has such ill effects on performance.

#2: Water is Brain Fuel

Hydration has a strong impact on your brain’s capacity and function. Even seemingly mild dehydration can affect you on a more metabolic level. For instance, a study concluded that women who had a fluid loss of 1.36% after exercise showed an increase in the frequency of headaches, as well as altered moods and impaired concentration.

A similar study was conducted on a group of men who had a fluid loss of 1.59% and showed subtle signs of fatigue, anxiety, and lack of memory. Despite the modest level of dehydration, it seems this group also suffered from impaired function.

Both of these studies show how even mild dehydration can decrease your mental capacity and make you more prone to fatigue and anxiety. To prevent mental fatigue, make sure to stay properly hydrated so you can have the energy to meet your goals.

#3: Drinking Water Can Prevent Headaches

A bad headache can stop you in your tracks, rendering you incapacitated. Instead of instantly reaching for Tylenol, think about your water intake. If you’re not staying hydrated, you may be contributing to that afternoon headache, or worse, a migraine. Some studies reveal that drinking water not only prevents some headaches, but can treat them as well.

Don’t let that ache in your head halt your productivity—stay hydrated and prevent headaches by simply drinking more water.

Most People are Dehydrated

Despite the importance of water, more than 75% of US citizens are unaware that they are dehydrated. Considering how essential water is to our health, this is a concerning issue.

If you’re concerned about how much water you’re drinking, consider using a daily water intake calculator to figure out the amount of water you need according to your weight. This is a great way to stay hydrated and healthy.

Hydration Myths We Need to Stop Believing

Eight glasses of water a day and Gatorade between workouts is not necessarily the key to staying healthy and hydrated! Read on to discover 10 myths about water consumption, and the hydration facts you need to know to stay healthy all summer.

Being Thirsty Means I’m Dehydrated

Your thirst sensations are a great way to tell if you need to drink more water, but feeling the sensation does not necessarily mean you’re dehydrated. Our kidneys control water balance in the body, and when they sense the need for more water, they let the brain know by making us feel thirsty.

Consuming 8 Glasses of Water a Day Is Important

You’ve been told the importance of consuming 8 glasses of water a day, but if your heart or kidneys are compromised, this may not be ideal for you. To figure out how much your body needs, consider your size, health condition, and how much you sweat. But as always, if in doubt, contact your care physician.

I Need to Start My Day With a Glass of Water

Starting the day with water is a great way to wake up, but it’s not all that necessary. People think that if you have slept for 8 hours, that you’ve been dehydrating, but it’s simply not the case. If in doubt, check the volume of urine that is being put out. This is a great indication of the level of your hydration, rather than the color.

Coconut Water Is The Best Choice

Coconut water is trendy and satisfying, but is it really the best alternative? Actually, it’s not! To prevent hydration, drinking plain water is the best place to start. People with kidney disease should avoid consumption of coconut water, as it can lead to dangerously high potassium levels.

Hydration Is All That Matters

Though you can go longer without food than water, it’s important to realize that hydration is not the only thing your body needs. Water is a great fluid replacer, but our bodies need electrolytes, too! Different situations may call for different ways to replace lost fluids.

Gatorade Is a Healthy Alternative

Gatorade is often spotted in gyms, and stadiums alike, but it’s not the best way to replace lost fluids. With questionable ingredients, excess sugar, and high fructose corn syrup— Gatorade may actually be more damaging than beneficial for your body. This is especially true for those who have issues with stable blood sugar.

Drinking Coffee Will Dehydrate Me

Don’t give up coffee just yet! It may actually not be as dehydrating as you once believed. Although coffee in larger doses can dehydrate you, the water in your coffee is enough to keep you hydrated throughout your next meeting.

I Don’t Need Water if I Don’t Exercise

If you think drinking water is only important for those who exercise, you may be missing out on some much needed hydration. A simple way to combat this is to drink water throughout the day to prevent mild dehydration.

Urine Indicates if I Am Hydrated

The last known hydration fact is the misconception of the color of your urine. Urine color does not alone indicate if you are dehydrated or not. A few factors including vitamins and high protein diets can affect the color of your urine. On the other hand, running to the restroom every 15 minutes may be a sign you are consuming too many fluids.

Cold vs. Room Temperature: What’s the Ideal Way to Hydrate?

Water is your body’s favorite drink; bottled or sparkling, warm or cold—your body can’t seem to get enough of it! But did you know that the temperature of your water can actually benefit your body in different ways? The temperature of your water can affect digestion, circulation, and may even contribute to headaches. It’s important to remember that water is water, no matter the temp. However, here are the drawbacks and benefits of drinking cold and room temperature water.

Drinking Warm Water Makes You Less Thirsty

Grabbing that lukewarm bottle in your car after a run may not be the best choice! If you’re trying to stay hydrated, drinking warm water can actually decrease your thirst, and make you thirst less. This can especially be dangerous on hot days when your body is losing water through sweat.

Cold Water is a Great After-Workout Choice

Feeling hot and sweaty? Try rehydrating with cold water! Sure, any temperature of water will hydrate you just as good, but cold water is especially cooling when you are overheated. Maybe opt for an icy water for your next post-run.

Room Temperature Water is Great for Digestion

As well as hydration, water is a great aid in digestion. Following a meal, it’s best to drink room temperature water to prevent the solidifying of fats. Otherwise, drinking cold water can congeal the fat from your meal, and slow down your digestive system—making you feel sluggish.

Cold Water May Be Giving You Headaches

Just as dehydration can cause headaches, the wrong kind of hydration may be contributing to your chronic pains. Cold water constricts blood vessels, which may make you more at risk for getting a migraine.

Room Temperature Water Can Keep You Regular

Warm water is great at improving circulation and relaxing muscles; this is good news for your digestive tract! If you’re feeling uncomfortable, try drinking a glass of room temperature water to relax the stomach muscles.

Cold Water Can Clog Your Sinuses

Stuffed up? Your water temperature may be to blame. Studies show that cold water can thicken your sinuses and make mucus harder to pass. Since blowing your nose dries it out, it’s wise to opt for a warmer water that will loosen things up again!

Room Temperature Water Can Boost Metabolism

Since drinking warm water increases your body’s temperature, this can aid in boosting your metabolism! Next time you’re trying to lose those extra pounds, why not reach for a glass of room temperature water? And add a lemon for some zest!

Drinking water in general (any kind) is one of the best things you can do for fast weight loss. It’s calorie-free, fills you up so you don’t feel hungry, and boosts your metabolism.

Water is an essential part of any diet and exercise program, as well as every function of your body. Feel your absolute best with detox water.

What is Detox Water?

Essentially, detox water is water infused with fruits, vegetables, and/or herbs that helps your system flush out toxins. The most beneficial component of the mix is the water itself, but you can add an endless number of other ingredients to boost health benefits. As a rule, anytime you’re filling your body with vitamins and nutrients, you’re going to feel healthier, look healthier, and have more energy.

How to Make it

No matter what you end up mixing into your water, the steps to making detox water won’t change much!

  • Drop all your ingredients into the bottom of a pitcher (or fruit infuser bottle)
  • Cover the ingredients about ½ way, then fill the pitcher to the top with water
  • Put your pitcher in the fridge for 1 hour before serving
  • You can refill your pitcher 2-3 times before it starts losing flavor

Recipe Ideas

Apple Cinnamon Detox Water

The phytonutrients and antioxidants found in apples reduce the risk of an array of health issues, like cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. All you need is:

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced, with the seeds taken out—fuji apples are recommended for this recipe, but use your favorite kind!
  • 1 cinnamon stick—powdered cinnamon doesn’t mix well with the water, so we don’t recommended it here.

Slim Down Detox Water

This drink is packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, which are great for your metabolism and skin! You’ll need:

  • ½ gallon of purified water
  • ½ of a lemon, sliced
  • ½ of a lime, sliced
  • ½ of a grapefruit, sliced
  • 1 cup of cucumber, also sliced

Watermelon and Strawberry Mint Detox Water

Watermelon has tons of health benefits—it helps lower blood pressure, improves insulin response, and alleviates muscle soreness. Not to mention the strawberries are full of antioxidants! You’ll need:

  • 4 cups of watermelon, cut into ½ inch cubes and slightly mashed
  • ½ pint of strawberries, sliced in half
  • 6 sprigs of mint, lightly crushed

Mango Ginger Detox Water

Mangos are famous for boosting metabolism, but that’s not all they help with! They help with digestion, memory, and can increase your libido. Ginger is great for digestion too, particularly with nausea and morning sickness, and is anti-inflammatory by nature. You’ll need:

  • 1 inch of ginger root, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup of frozen mango—fresh is better if you can get it!

Classic Cucumber Detox Water

This is known as the king of all detox waters—the drink that started it all. Cucumbers are packed with vitamins, flavonoids, and other healthy compounds that fight inflammation, boosts brain health, and even freshens your breath! All you need it:

  • 1 medium organic cucumber, cleaned and peeled
